Dr. Kelly Ickes specializes in the assessment and treatment of a variety of mental health issues, with a particular interest in the areas of addiction, depression/anxiety disorders, and other self destructives habits and behaviors. Dr. Ickes frequently employs motivational interviewing techniques to help individuals resolve ambivalence and gain the motivation needed to prepare for, implement, and maintain desired changes. She also uses a combination of cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal process strategies to assist individuals in identifying and altering unhealthy thinking and behavioral patterns that block them from fully enjoying the lives they want to lead.
Dr. Ickes earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University. She completed her internship at the Cincinnati Veterans Hospital, and has worked in a variety of other clinical settings.
